EA Reportedly Blocks All Mentions of ARC Raiders in Chat

Typing 'ARC Raiders' in EA’s chat replaces the name with hashtags, raising eyebrows.

ARC Raiders in its chat system, which has gamers scratching their heads. When players type the game’s name, it mysteriously turns into a string of hashtags. This is odd, especially since other game titles show up just fine.

ARC Raiders grabbed a lot of attention earlier this year during its April beta playtest. The gameplay looked smooth, and the community was talking to get their hands on keys. The game’s official release is scheduled for October, but the exact date remains under wraps.

What’s weird is that this censorship seems exclusive to ARC Raiders. Other popular titles like Call of Duty, GTA, Fortnite, and Escape From Tarkov all appear normally in EA’s chat. So why is this one getting blocked? Could it be some glitch? Or is EA intentionally silencing the name?

Here’s the tweet showing the censorship in action. It’s not a Photoshop trick, apparently, but who knows? Maybe EA’s chat filter is just buggy or got confused by the name. Still, the timing is suspicious.

Apparently, @EA is censoring Embark Studios in their chat systems.

"ARC Raiders" is replaced with ####.

This doesn't happen for any other title.

Patrick Söderlund, the CEO of Embark Studios (the developer behind ARC Raiders), was once a big shot at EA, he served as executive vice president and CEO of DICE, the studio famous for Battlefield. He left EA in 2018 and now leads Embark Studios under the Nexon umbrella. Could this be some leftover corporate grudge? Or just a bizarre coincidence?

What do you think? Is EA trying to hush up ARC Raiders for some reason? Or is this just a weird technical hiccup? Yikes, it’s hard not to wonder.
