EA’s spokesperson decided to reveal the plans and reasons why EA Play Live 2022 is exactly canceled for. On Tuesday, EA Play Live 2022 has been officially canceled for the first time since 2016. Sad to see, EA won’t be a host of its traditional EA Play event.
According to the official statement given to IGN, the cancelation ensues because “things are not lining up to showcase everything in one day.” While it sounds like a bizarre excuse, EA Play Live 2022’s staging is less likely to be reinstated, even if things shuffle internally.
We love EA Play Live as it’s our way of connecting with our players and sharing what’s new with all of you,” the statement reads. “However, this year things aren’t lining up to show you everything on one date. We have exciting things happening at our world-class studios and this year we’ll reveal much more about these projects when the time is right for each of them. We look forward to spending time with you throughout the year!
It’s sad to see EA not showcasing new entertainment software coming this year, but it’s going to have an impact in the long run. At least we have Geoff Keighley and his Summer Game Fest for this year.
