Techland is keeping things fresh in Dying Light 2: Stay Human with a new crossover featuring Balatro. The highlight? A wild Joker Charm that triggers one of 12 random effects on your character. Plus, there are two brand-new side quests and a bunch of free goodies to grab. This update demonstrates Techland’s commitment to supporting the game, even as Dying Light: The Beast approaches, coming soon.
Here’s what the Friend of Aiden bundle brings to the table:
- Jimbo’s Outfit: No jokes here, just a sharp look for zombie slaying.
- Ceremonial Dagger: This isn’t just a prop. Defeat different enemy types, perform finishers, and destroy Joker Charms to boost your multiplier.
- Joker Charm: It’s a mystery every time! Each charm you get has a distinct gameplay effect, some more helpful than others, just like in Balatro.
- Flying Blind Paraglider: Because every poker player needs a quick escape, even if you miss a few chips.
Honestly, this crossover feels larger compared to previous ones, which mainly focused on cosmetic items. Here, the quests and gear affect gameplay, and I love that extra depth.
Techland’s Tymon Smektala shared some words about the future of Dying Light 2:
“We promised at least five years of support for Dying Light 2, and our fans can count on it.
This summer we’re going all in for our community. We’re celebrating our incredibly talented modding community with a UGC Fest and have a full house of free content in the Dying Light 2 x Balatro: Friend of Aiden crossover.”
