It looks like the time has come to say goodbye to Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. If you’ve been procrastinating on exploring this co-op action RPG or haven’t had the chance yet, now’s your wake-up call! The game will officially be delisted on February 2, 2025.
You’ll still be able to purchase it until that fateful day. After February 2nd? It’s going offline for good. But don’t fret too much if you already own it; the base game and its DLC will still be playable in single-player mode after that date. So, if you’re one of those solo adventurers who prefer battling monsters alone (we know you’re out there), you’ll have some options left!
The news dropped via a message on both console and PC digital storefronts. You know how these things go, the official word reads: “We will be shutting down (shut down) the Dark Alliance servers on 2/24/2025 and it will no longer be available to purchase starting that day.” Sounds ominous, right?
Developed by Tuque Games and published by Wizards of the Coast, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance was released in June 2021 across platforms like Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. It even made quite an entrance by being available for subscribers of Xbox Game Pass right at launch!
If you missed all the hype around its launch or want a refresher, here’s what I remember fondly about this game. It promised us an explosive blend of real-time combat and dynamic co-op play as we ventured through Icewind Dale. Seriously though, are frost giants and vengeful dragons running rampant? Who could resist that kind of chaos?
The premise was simple but enticing: gather your band of heroes or brave solo missions against legendary foes while exploring frigid landscapes filled with loot and bosses excited to ruin your day. Honestly? There were moments when taking down those unstoppable enemies felt like conquering Mt. Everest.
