Dota 2 New Matchmaking System Adds Solo Queue & Phone Number Linking

After so long time, the Solo queue will be brought back in Dota 2. This is such an amazing news to hear since players that solo queue will no longer get players in a party. This will improve the chances on winning, which is one of the best things Valve could ever do. This Dota 2 new matchmaking system should be amazing and fix a lot of issues regarding the gameplay.

Another cool fact is that a lot of smurf accounts are going to die, making them impossible to play Ranked matches. So, in order to queue a ranked match, you must have a linked Phone number into your account. Valve explained that players having more accounts create a negative matchmaking experience at all skill brackets. Finally, there’s an end to all of that. Dota 2 might become your favorite game once again!

Dota 2 New Matchmaking System

Linking the Phone Number

Listen carefully. There is going to be a two-week grace period from today and players will get some time to register a number, but, starting on May 4, all the accounts with unregistered phone number will no longer be able to queue for Ranked play. If a number is removed from an account after registration, a new number can be added with a time limit of three-months waiting period for the removed phone number to be registered on another account. Cool, isn’t it?

Solo queue

This is the most exciting part in this update, where solo players will get the chance to play against another 5 solo players. 10 players playing solo? Such an amazing change! Valve decides to make this changes and note that you still need to select this option.

Party queue

There is going to be an update in the party queue too, which means if a player’s Solo MMR is higher than their party MMR, then, queuing in a party will result in getting a higher MMR team. Amazing Isn’t it?

All of these changes together with the new Matchmaking behavior should made the community a bit better. No more account buyers, everything should be back to normal. Whoever thinks that these changes are bad, he’s mistaken.

Valve decides to make Dota 2 a lot better place and community for all the gamers. Let’s see what’s going to happen. Just make sure you register your phone number because you won’t be able to queue in ranked match.
