After Season 10’s run, Blizzard laid out some of what Diablo 4 players can expect next year. 2026 will bring a new expansion, a ranking system, leaderboards, and additional content, following a busy 2025 of seasonal experiments and system overhauls.

Season 10 proved popular after early changes to how temporary powers worked. Players have spent the year testing everything from occult effects to boss-borrowed abilities. Several new systems landed and remained, including expanded Lair Bosses, Reliquaries, and Nightmare Dungeon updates. One substantial change that continues to affect fights was a rework to Lair Bosses’ invulnerability phases, which altered how those encounters play out. Now, fans have been asking Blizzard to keep elements such as Chaos Rifts and Chaos Armor, two features that altered build variety and pacing.

Plans for next year include a complete expansion, along with new competitive infrastructure, leaderboards, and a ranking ladder, all of which will arrive alongside additional updates. Rumors about class returns are already circulating, including claims that the Crusader from Diablo 3 might join the roster in the expansion. Past fixes and system reworks have set a pattern for how the game changes over time.
