Compass to Carnage is live in Diablo 4 and players are reporting a dramatic uptick in Chaos Wave frequency that makes hoarded 6-wave Infernal Compasses far more valuable than usual. Reports from runs and a growing Reddit thread show that Chaos Waves are appearing far more often during the event. Ten-wave routes are seeing four or five Chaos Waves on a regular basis, and even shorter six-wave runs almost always include two Chaos Waves. That extra consistency pushes many groups to the familiar 666 Aether threshold that players use for Chaos Armor farming.
Numbers backing the anecdote are not subtle. Players are posting runs with total Aether well over 2600 when goblins and Chaos Waves line up, which is a big jump from standard pacing. That means players trying to finish armor sets or chase Greater Affixes can make noticeably faster progress than during a normal week. If you have a pile of 6-wave Infernal Compasses, now is the moment to spend them rather than sit on them until later. The extra Chaos Waves and improved Aether yields make single-session goals – like finishing a full Chaos Armor set or rounding out Greater Affixes – far more realistic. Players who are already set for the season should still be careful about salvaging or selling Chaos Armor since those pieces are currently worth farming.
Blizzard is running Compass to Carnage through December 2, so the window is limited. Use the event to finish builds or to test alts ahead of the season change if you want concrete answers before Season 10 ends. A lively Reddit thread started by a player called the opportunity out early and contains multiple example runs and screenshots.
