Devolver Digital is bringing its new bullet hell roguelite Ball X Pit to PS5, with a release date locked in for October 15, 2025, mixing frantic action with strategic town-building, promising a fresh twist on the genre.

At first glance, Ball X Pit looks like a mashup of Breakout and Vampire Survivors. Players fire balls to fend off waves of enemies descending from above. The chaos is absolute, but there’s more to it than just shooting.

Players will level up during runs, strengthening their balls and even combining them into powerful combos. The game also includes a strategic layer outside of the action where you develop the town of New Ballbylon. Building various structures provides resources and perks for future runs, adding some depth to the bullet hell madness.

Multiple playable characters come with their stats and abilities, offering variety and replay value. The trailer shows off this mix of manic gameplay and town management, hinting at a roguelite that could hook you for hours.

The game will be available exclusively on PS5 via the PlayStation Store. Pre-orders are already open on Amazon, so you can lock it in if you’re interested.

October is shaping up to be quite the month for PS5 owners with titles like this arriving. Who knew a game about firing balls could look this intense? Are you ready to go into the pit and dodge a barrage of bullets? Or will you build up New Babylon and watch your town grow? I’m curious to see how this balance plays out.

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Will Ball X Pit be your next roguelite obsession?
