Destiny 2‘s Lightfall expansion has been met with mixed reviews from the community, but the next raid, Root of Nightmares, is set to launch on March 10th. A new trailer has revealed the location of the raid, which takes place inside a Pyramid Ship that The Traveler fired at in the opening cinematic to defeat The Witness.
In the trailer, players venture into the hole where the Light has mixed with the Pyramid Ship’s architecture in strange ways. What threat awaits inside remains to be seen, but the World First Race will take place when the raid goes live at 8:30 AM PT on Friday. The Contest modifier will be active for 48 hours, placing all fireteams at a Power level disadvantage. The first team to complete the raid will receive special championship belts courtesy of Bungie.
Despite the mixed reception of the Lightfall expansion, the Root of Nightmares raid is highly anticipated by fans of Destiny 2. The Pyramid Ship location adds a new layer of mystery and intrigue to the game’s lore, and the World First Race offers a competitive challenge for players.
