The Delta Force series is coming back to PlayStation after nearly two decades, with developer Team Jade revealing the PS5 release date for its free-to-play reboot. Remember for 19th August 2025, when the tactical shooter hits the platform without a price tag.
I gotta say, seeing Delta Force return on PS5 feels pretty wild. It’s been almost 20 years since the series was last on PlayStation, so fans who remember those classic tactical battles might be talking. The reboot combines a multiplayer experience with a campaign remake inspired by the film Black Hawk Down. It seems to be trying to please both old fans and new players.
The multiplayer modes look intense. There’s Warfare, a 32 vs. 32 battle that includes land, sea, and air vehicles. Plus, Operations offers an extraction mode and a Raid mode focused on objectives. Honestly, the scale alone sounds like a blast to jump into, especially on next-gen hardware.
Since its launch on PC and mobile, the game has gotten plenty of updates, which means it’s probably in solid shape for its PS5 debut. The Steam reception has been mixed, but the player base remains steady, so it seems like those who enjoy it really stick around. Kinda impressive, right?
A closed beta for consoles is planned for July, so PS5 players will get a chance to test it out before the full launch. I’m curious to see how it runs and feels on PS5, will it hit the mark or leave us wanting more?
