Lost Soul Aside’s devs warned players that a massive Day 1 patch will be available at launch, and some folks are worried the game won’t work well straight out of the box. The post says the update will add a range of fixes and tweaks, which has some people wishing it was already on the disc.
It’s a bummer that modern launches often ship with varied performance – some builds run fine while others struggle. We saw similar problems with Mafia: The Old Country and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and now Lost Soul Aside seems to be following that trend.
Developers posted about a Day 1 patch on X, urging players to download it for the optimal gameplay experience. The team listed a handful of update items that appear to focus on stability, visuals, audio, and general gameplay fixes.

Not everyone loves the idea of a big day-one download. Some players would have preferred the disc to include those fixes out of the box. User Brice ACHAUME said they hoped the disc version would be playable from start to finish without a patch.
Everyone's OK with this, but I would have clearly prefered a full patched version on the disc without having to download anything.

Only a handful of people have the game already, so it’s difficult to gauge how widespread any performance issues are. Still, it’s good that the devs are aware of issues and plan to address them with updates – even if that means a big download on day one. Who actually wants to wait while a huge patch installs?
Lost Soul Aside will arrive on August 29, 2025, for PC and PS5. The game’s publisher is PlayStation Studios, and it’s listed for PlayStation 5 and PC. The dev is Ultizero Games, and the game runs on Unreal Engine 4.
