CD Projekt RED, a beacon of video game development hailing from Poland, is shaping the future of interactive storytelling, with its prime focus on Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. This upcoming expansion is the center of the company’s developmental efforts, engaging the highest number of expert developers as of April 30th, 2023.
Following in the pipeline is Project Polaris, a highly anticipated installment in the globally acclaimed Witcher franchise. Project Polaris has experienced a steady influx of creative workforce since December 2022, positioning it as the second-largest endeavor under the CD Projekt umbrella. As per the Q1 2023 earnings report, the studio remains tight-lipped about the specific nature of other projects.
Meanwhile, the Witcher universe is expanding with Project Sirius, a unique spinoff brought to life. Despite some unfortunate layoffs that led to 29 developers departing the project earlier in the month, Sirius occupies the third spot in CD Projekt’s development hierarchy. The initial team had over 60 talented developers on board, and it remains to be seen how the recent downsizing will impact the future trajectory of this Witcher spinoff.
This dynamic portfolio reflects CD Projekt’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of the video game industry. Following the impressive milestone of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt crossing 50 million sales worldwide, the studio is poised to cement further its reputation as a creator of immersive and groundbreaking experiences.
Last but not least, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty will be present at the Summer Game Fest Play Days event.
