Crash Bandicoot could be headed to Netflix as an animated series, if early reporting holds. According to an item picked up by streaming site What’s on Netflix, developer WildBrain Studios is attached to a new animated project based on the marsupial mascot. Story details and casting remain under wraps, so this looks like an early-stage effort rather than a formal Netflix announcement.
This would not be the first time the character flirted with TV. Crash was once linked to an Amazon Studios project that later fell through; that earlier attempt was ultimately canceled and never made it to screen. The franchise itself now sits with Microsoft following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, meaning any adaptation will be handled with that ownership in mind.
The idea of a Crash series makes sense on paper. The character’s cartoony tone and large, recognizable cast fit animation, and WildBrain has experience with game-to-TV work. Still, there are no production dates, network confirmations, or casting details to report yet, so treat this as rumor territory for now.
If this gets official traction, expect a slow drip of casting updates and a teaser before any release window is set. Until then, fans can rewatch the classic games and hope for a faithful tone that matches the slapstick energy of the originals.
