Valve began Premier Season Four for Counter-Strike 2 today, bringing community-created maps, new in-game items, a handful of gameplay tweaks, and some routine bug fixes. Anubis is back after a short absence and arrives with several gameplay adjustments. The release notes point to targeted changes on the map that change how some areas play. The post teases that the alterations are welcome for players who like “holes,” meaning certain sightlines and vertical spaces were reworked.
There are also minor SMG adjustments aimed at the MP7 and MP5-SD. Valve suggests those changes make the weapons more attractive choices, so players who have been waiting to add either SMG to their loadout should test them this season. The Season Four Medal is available again. Medal color matches the highest Counter-Strike Rating a player reaches durin g the season. Win progress is shown as bars, with one bar for every 25 Premier match wins up to a maximum of five bars. To qualify for a medal a player needs an account in good standing, at least 25 Premier wins in the season, and an active CSR at the season’s end.
Community maps arrive with the season. Stronghold, Alpine, and Warren are playable in Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch modes. Poseidon and Sanctum are available in Wingman. The armory gained a limited edition entry. The AK-47 | Aphrodite features mother-of-pearl accents and an amber patina. Pattern and wear vary between drops.
