With Halloween arriving in a few days, this time, Epic Games are giving away two free games that take on the Halloween spirit. Costume Quest 2 and Layers of Fear 2 are both very great games that can set up the spooky mood before Halloween.
Costume Quest 2 is an action turn-based RPG developed by Double Fine Productions and published by Midnight City, serving as the sequel to the first game, Costume Quest. The game is about two siblings fighting to save Halloween, fighting evil candy stealing monsters, and time-traveling doctors. It’s more of a wholesome title rather than a spooky one.
On the other hand, we have Layers of Fear 2, a terrifying first-person psychological horror game emphasizing exploration and story, developed by Bloober Team and published by Gun Media. Players control a Hollywood actor who heeds an enigmatic director’s call to take on the lead role in a film shot aboard an ocean liner. But nothing is what it honestly seems.
Costume Quest 2 and Layers of Fear 2 are available to redeem for free on Epic Games Store now, and they will be up until October 29th. After that, the Halloween season will continue with Blair Witch and Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered.
