Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 wins nine awards at The Game Awards, sets new single-show record

Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 dominated The Game Awards 2025, taking home nine trophies including Game of the Year and setting a new record for the most wins in a single edition of the ceremony. The RPG arrived at the show with 12 nominations across 10 categories and converted that attention into victories in major fields:

  • Best Debut Indie Game
  • Best RPG, Best Independent Game
  • Best Score & Music
  • Best Narrative
  • Best Art Direction
  • Best Performance
  • Best Game Direction
  • Game of the Year

That haul eclipses Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II, which previously held the single-show record with seven awards in 2020. Other recent multi-award standouts at The Game Awards include Baldur’s Gate 3 and God of War Ragnarök, but Clair Obscur’s nine trophies mark a new peak for the show.
