Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil Requiem will all be released on Nintendo Switch on February 27, 2026, and the studio has explained why it decided to launch all three titles simultaneously. Producer Masato Kumazawa discussed the plan in an interview with NewGameNetwork. Kumazawa said Resident Evil Village was the first title ported to Switch 2 and the process went “smooth.” With that groundwork, porting Requiem also went “smoothly,” which encouraged the team to bring RE7 Biohazard into the lineup.
The studio also had a technical baseline for RE7, thanks to the cloud version that ran on the original Switch, so adapting that one was more straightforward than starting from scratch. The goal, Capcom said, is to give newcomers the freedom to choose how they begin the series, either by starting with RE7 and progressing to Requiem, or by jumping straight into the latest entry. So yeah, three Resident Evil launches on one day. It’s a convenient way to let new players pick an entry point, and it appears that the technical work for Village and Requiem made this possible.
