Capcom Posts 10-Minute Look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gameplay

Capcom has posted a ten-minute gameplay video for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which showcases sword combat, stealth moments, and a full boss fight. The footage comes from an in-person event demo, and attendees of PAX will have the opportunity to try it out. I’m sharing what stood out in the clip.

Oh, the combat looks weighty and deliberate – there are clear hits and counters, and stealth sections that mix pacing. The demo includes an extended boss sequence that gives a good sense of enemy patterns and how the Oni Gauntlet feels in play. A few animations are a bit rough in places, but the systems are readable.

Capcom’s event footage also includes some short exploration segments around a warped version of Edo-era Kyoto. If you want a deeper look at the footage, the video is available below.

Curious what the demo shows? The clip gives a clear run-through of combat flow, stealth choices, and the boss encounter without spoiling every encounter. I like that enemy telegraphs feel readable, so fights often come down to timing rather than button-mashing.
