Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 secured the top spot as the best-selling game in the United States for January 2026, according to the latest sales data released last Friday. This achievement is particularly notable since the game is available to Xbox Game Pass PC and Ultimate subscribers, providing wide access beyond traditional purchase models.

Following Black Ops 7, the rest of the top five was dominated by sports titles, with NBA 2K26 at second, Madden NFL 26 in third, and Minecraft in fourth. Battlefield 6, a key competitor to Call of Duty, ranked fifth on the list. There are also some new movements in the top 20, which include Final Fantasy VII: Remake jumping from 225th place in December to ninth in January, boosted by its release on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S during the month. Other titles newly entering the Top 20 or climbing from outside it include Helldivers II, Split Fiction, Elden Ring, and Fallout 4.

A fresh release making its debut in the Top 20 is Code Vein II, which landed at number 11.
