Treyarch has decided to cancel several planned collaborations for skins in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. In an interview with CharlieIntel, Yale Miller, Treyarch’s Senior Director of Production, revealed that the team turned down opportunities with major brands. “There are opportunities that we have had lined up that, after some of our conversations, we straight up turned down,” Miller stated. He emphasized the importance of staying true to what feels right for the game, without naming specific collaborations that were canceled.

Miller explained that the focus isn’t on “grounded” skins but instead on those that resonate with the Black Ops universe. A prime example he mentioned is the T.E.D.D. Operator skin, which, despite not being grounded, fits the game’s aesthetic. Players who purchase the Vault Edition of Black Ops 7 will have access to this skin, which has already seen slight updates based on community feedback.

“All intentions [are] to stick to stuff that we can hand on our heart, say, yeah, that feels Black Ops,” Miller added, clarifying the studio’s direction. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch on November 14 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, with the beta starting on October 2 for pre-orders and opening to everyone on October 5.
