Call of Duty Black Ops 5 confirmed for 2020, Treyarch in the lead

Finally, more info about Call Of Duty has been discovered. It appears that Treyarch will be in charge of the continuation of the franchise. Multiple developing studios have taken part in the creation of each Call of Duty Sequels, such as Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward. However, now that Treyarch is up to challenge, we know that the upcoming Black Ops 5 will also be a “Modern Warfare” product.

Each consecutive year, most precisely each fall in the last 15 years, Activision has discovered a Call of Duty sequel. It’s always been a mixture of Sledgehammer, Treyarch and Infinity Ward. Knowing that Treyarch will have the upper hand and leadership, Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward will serve as a support for the game’s creation.

According to Kotaku, it is a word about a game set during the Cold War, and unlike Black Ops 4, it will most likely include a bigger single-player campaign. A shorter time to develop a game, but a bigger and more enthusiastic approach.

Sledgehammer’s Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield have departed the studio. This resulted in recruits being made by them after they settled in a new one, and all of the recruits came from Sledgehammer, which made an even bigger gap of problems for the studio.

Michael Condrey had since been a part of a couple of warm topics, in which he obviously ranted against the current Black Ops 4 product. This will surely create some issues, as Kotaku also reported that there’s even bigger tension between Sledgehammer and Raven regarding the upcoming Call of Duty title.

Nevertheless, both of the studios will serve as support, without any having the upper hand. But in the end, it all comes down to satisfaction. Satisfying the fans would be the most perfect thing to focus to, as it is the only reason to make a video game. No hype = no satisfaction = no revenue, even though the decisions for making the upcoming Call of Duty title free-to-play are certain. Maybe in-game cosmetics market would be the best thing in the future. Maybe every game will come for free, offering a good set of cosmetic items that will take on the consumer’s eyes.

That would be a perfect monetization plan for every game.
