Blizzard’s latest Diablo 4 footage makes Lord of Hatred look even darker

A new 12-minute gameplay video shows the expansion's opening battle at sea and teases major skill tree and endgame changes.

Blizzard has released 12 minutes of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred gameplay as the expansion heads toward its April 28, 2026 launch. The footage gives a closer look at the opening stretch of the DLC and the kind of chaos players can expect when Mephisto’s story continues.

The new video opens with the player character boarding a ship that is quickly overwhelmed by monsters. From there, the fight moves through the lower decks and then back onto the broken top of the vessel for a showdown with what looks like a sea-born monster.

The footage follows a run of excellent news for the expansion. Blizzard has already said the Paladin class will be available through early access for players who buy the deluxe or ultimate edition, while the Warlock will join the roster when the expansion arrives. For a fuller look at what Blizzard has already confirmed, see the earlier expansion breakdown.

Blizzard is also planning a broad skill tree rework alongside Lord of Hatred, plus major changes to endgame content. That means this expansion is not just about a new campaign beat, but also a wider systems pass that will affect how players build characters and tackle late-game activities.
