Activision Blizzard has just announced that World of Warcraft Shadowlands is the fastest-selling PC game of all time. Azeroth’s afterlife seems to be very attractive to players worldwide, as it managed to draw a vast number of video game purchases. This was stated in a recent investor publication made by Activision Blizzard, discovering that over 3.7 million units were sold on day one.
Today, Blizzard Entertainment announced that as of the first full day of Shadowlands’ launch, more than 3.7 million units had sold through globally, making it the fastest-selling PC game of all time industry-wide.
The previous industry record holder is Diablo III, with more than 3.5 million copies sold.
The 8th World of Warcraft expansion is walking steadily as it bolsters the number of players to a whole new level. A huge differentiation in comparison to its predecessors. Blizzard Entertainment’s president Allen Brack has stated the following:
“It’s been a huge thrill to enter this whole-new dimension of the Warcraft universe together with millions of players around the world,” “It’s been equally rewarding to see players enjoying all of the new features and content in Shadowlands – whether they’re exploring new aspects of their characters with the Covenants or setting foot in WoW for the first time with the new-player experience in Exile’s Reach—and there’s much more to come.
World of Warcraft Shadowlands was launched on November 23, 2020, and has managed to break multiple industry-wide records and reach new company milestones.
