Blizzard has confirmed the launch timing for World of Warcraft: Midnight Patch 12.0.5, the first smaller update for the expansion. The patch will go live on April 21 in the US and April 22 in Europe.
The update adds a mix of world content, repeatable activities, and upgrade paths. Blizzard says players will push back Void forces through new Void Assaults, interrupt Ritual Sites, work through the Voidforge system, and jump into Decor Duels and Abyss Anglers.
Void Assaults will take place in Eversong Woods and Zul’Aman on a weekly rotation. Once one is completed, another begins elsewhere in the zone and keeps the rotation moving. Larger Void Incursions will also open up after enough strikes are cleared, creating a bigger scenario that brings more of Azeroth’s defenders into the fight.

Ritual Sites add a smaller-instance activity for one to five players, with challenges tied to power-hungry naga and Twilight’s Blade cultists. Blizzard says players will choose some of the challenges as they climb through tiers, and that the activity will also feed into Great Vault rewards for the World content row alongside Delves and Prey. Field Accolades earned from Void Assaults and Ritual Sites can be spent on Champion and Heroic quality gear and rewards.

The Voidforge gives players another route for progression in Midnight. Blizzard says players will help Decimus build the forge, then transmute Nebulous Voidcores into stronger equipment after clearing Midnight Season 1 raids, running Mythic+ dungeons, or finishing Bountiful Delves and Prey Hunts on Nightmare difficulty. Once that step is in place, Decimus will ask for more help crafting the Ascendant Nilhammer, which upgrades weapons and trinkets through Ascendant Voidcores.

There is also a lighter side to the patch. Decor Duels will send players into Silvermoon City for a team-vs-team hide-and-seek mode through the Group Finder Tool on the PvP tab. Players can hide as Housing decor items or hunt down the ones in disguise, and Blizzard says the event will award a mount, toys, and Housing decor.

Abyss Anglers rounds out the list. The repeatable event takes place off Zul’Aman’s coast, where groups spear fish, earn points, and unlock fishing rewards and diver gear upgrades. Blizzard says players can speak with Depthdiver Jeju to enter the Depths, move through whirlpools, catch creatures with a harpoon, and work deeper toward treasure and cosmetics.
With Patch 12.0.5 now on the calendar, Midnight is adding more world content and progression hooks before the expansion’s bigger beats arrive. If you are jumping back into World of Warcraft for this one, tell us what you think in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
