Blizzard posted additional changes to World of Warcraft’s new transmog system and the developer says players should see the adjustments very soon. The company plans to reduce gold costs for saving full outfits by 50% and expects that change to be available within roughly a day, according to Blizzard on the official forums.
On the forums Blizzard wrote, “We’re going to lower the cost of outfit creation prices by 50% to bring them more in line with what the prices were prior to the Transmog update.” The developer added that the price reduction is under development and should arrive quickly.
Blizzard also reiterated plans to grant every player-character a single free transmog use. The company said it will try to deliver that free transmog before patch 12.0.1, possibly via a hotfix, and that it will update its official hotfixes page when the change is live. Details about Trial of Style were clarified as well. When the Trial of Style event runs, players will receive a special transmog outfit slot that can be edited for free and worn both inside and outside the competition while the event is active. The outfit slot is the one judges use during the event and it will be removed when the Trial of Style ends.
These changes follow the broader transmog overhaul that landed with the pre-patch. Players who logged in noticed their active transmogs reset on first login, but previously saved sets remain available under Custom Sets. For background on how saved appearances and Custom Sets are handled after the pre-patch, see the guide on where to find your transmog sets after the pre-patch. The free-transmog promise also appears in prior developer notes about the 12.0.1 update, readers can find more on the planned free transmog for every character in that roundup. Blizzard thanked players for feedback in the forum message and said it will update players when the hotfix and price changes are live.
