Treyarch confirmed on October 4, 2025, that the Black Ops 7 beta will introduce Open Moshpit. In this standalone multiplayer playlist, skill consideration is drastically reduced when matchmaking, aiming to create more varied match experiences. Player frustration with skill-based matchmaking has been a recurring issue for years, a history that stretches back to 2007’s original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
The beta patch notes say Open Moshpit places players in lobbies where “skill consideration is drastically reduced when matchmaking, with the goal of providing more varied match experiences and outcomes.” That playlist sits alongside the regular Moshpit in the beta, and both use the same set of maps and modes for now.
The maps included in both Moshpit and Open Moshpit are:
- Impring
- Cortex
- Exposure
- The Forge
The available modes are:
- Team Deathmatch
- Domination
- Hardpoint
- Kill Confirmed
- Overload
Remember, this is beta stuff. How Open Moshpit functions now could change between the beta and the game’s November release, so expect tweaks as Treyarch gathers feedback.
