When someone as revered as former Call of Duty World Champion Seth “Scump” Abner calls the current state of CoD “Kind of depressing,” you know there’s cause for concern. Players are jumping ship for other titles, like the Marvel Rivals Season One Eternal Night Falls Update. Player counts have dipped significantly, and while there have been some fun moments, like the Squid Game event, it hasn’t been enough to keep everyone engaged. The pressure is on for Season 2 to pack a punch.
The release date for Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 is January 28, confirmed by Activision through their patch notes.
The January 9 patch notes blog mentioned stability fixes but also hinted at this big reveal: “Look for both of those fixes when Season 2 launches on Jan.28.” Quite an unusual way to drop a date! If you haven’t yet wrapped up your Battle Pass from Season I, you better get hustling!
Warzone & Black Ops VI Season 2 Content
No leaks or hints have surfaced about new content just yet. But let’s be honest; we can probably expect the standard fare: New Maps, Guns, Perks, limited-time modes, Operator Bundles, and a new Battle Pass.
You’d think we’d have something juicy to chew on by now, but here we are! Fingers crossed, this secrecy means they’re cooking something special behind closed doors. Fans are itching for a Ranked mode without pesky hackers in Black Ops. And don’t get me started on how many players want Verdansk back in Warzone! As for Zombies? Well… there might not be much left after introducing Citadelle del Morts.

B06 & Warzone Season 2 Battle Pass
There is no official word yet, but trust me when I say a new Battle Pass is practically guaranteed for both games.
The bigger question lingering over us is whether Activision will stick with these additional Battle Passes after that controversial Event Pass during the Squid Game event. Do you remember the one with its free version alongside a Premium Tier? The community didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for that one! We’ll see if they address player feedback once they announce details about Season 2.
