Black Ops 6, published by Activision, experienced a decline in its Steam peak and monthly averages following the launch of Season 5 Reloaded at the start of September. The decline pushed the game’s Steam peak to roughly 63,000, lower than August’s figures and recent months.
At launch in November 2024, the game recorded strong engagement, reaching 33.7 million players and arriving as a day-one title on Xbox Game Pass. Over time, those headline numbers narrowed, and an Ampere analysis noted activity falling toward 20.6 million active players, according to an Ampere report.
Steam numbers show a more precise pattern of spikes around updates and then gradual declines. At the start of September – the arrival of Season 5 Reloaded – the one-day peak sat at roughly 63,000, lower than August’s high and the lowest since the spring. Both SteamDB and Steam Charts reflect that trend, and similar seasonal spikes were visible previously, such as the surge when Verdansk returned for Season 3 during Season 3.
Monthly averages give a starker sense of scale. July averaged 51,000, August was about 42,000, and the early part of September averaged 41,000, the lowest since March’s 44,613.
