Battlefield 6’s Nightfall Season Brings Night Maps, Free Trial Runs This Week

Battlefield 6 added night-time maps as part of Season 2: Nightfall and opened a limited free trial on March 17, 2026 that will remain active through March 24, 2026 for PC and console players.

The timed trial grants access to four maps, Contaminated, Hagental Base, Eastwood, and Mirak Valley, and six multiplayer modes. Players can jump into Conquest and Breakthrough, or smaller-scale modes including Squad Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Escalation, and Domination. Any progress made during the trial will carry over if a player purchases the full game.

Night mode and a new trailer

Season 2 adds a night-vision element to matches and arrived alongside a free game update that introduced the darkness-focused content. A new trailer showing the night mode and other Season 2 additions accompanied the launch.

Watch the official trailer below.

Battlefield 6 originally released on October 10, 2025. The title’s 2026 roadmap also signaled continued work on maps and multiplayer systems; readers interested in those plans can see the site’s coverage of that roadmap here.

If you’re trying the free trial, remember that Battlefield 6 rewards objective play and coordinated squads more than lone-killer antics. The trial window runs only through March 24, 2026, so now is the time to see how the night maps play if you’ve been curious.
