Battlefield 6 will use 60hz server tick rate at launch, visibility fixes coming per map

Lead producer David Sirland said on X that Battlefield 6 will run on a 60hz server tick rate for now, and that soldier visibility improvements will be applied on a per-map basis.

David Sirland confirmed on X that Battlefield 6 will use a 60Hz server tick rate “for now,” and that soldier visibility will be improved on a per-map basis ahead of launch. These comments came in response to fan questions about networking and visibility during the beta.

Server tick rate

Sirland answered player questions on X, stating, “60Hz is the base for now.” The tweet is the most explicit confirmation so far about the game’s networking cadence.

1. Not sure what you mean?
2. 60hz is the base for now
3. Yes and its per map
4. Not planned now
5. No, not now. We opted for peek & lean

— David Sirland (@tiggr_) October 3, 2025

For readers who don’t follow server technology closely, tick rate refers to the frequency at which the server updates the game state, which affects responsiveness and hit registration. The open beta felt reasonable, but a higher tick rate typically makes combat feel more responsive and accurate. Sirland also said soldier visibility problems seen in the beta will be addressed, and that fixes will be applied on a per map basis rather than a universal visual change. That means you should expect map-specific tweaks to make enemies easier to spot, not an overlay that highlights targets.

Do you have thoughts on tick rate or the visibility tweaks? Please drop a comment below and tell us what you noticed in the beta. Also, follow us on X and Bluesky to keep the conversation going.
