EA confirmed in a community update that Battlefield 6 will include a Server Browser when it launches on October 10. The company also stated that players can expect to find verified playlists and curated experiences in the main menus as well.
The company explained that the Portal tool will remain for creating custom experiences. At the same time, the menu section formerly known as “Portal” will be renamed “Community” and will feature the Server Browser more prominently, making it easier for players to find. EA also highlighted several launch-day fixes and balance changes designed to make gunplay and movement feel more responsive.
Some of the early chatter around the game has been positive, including reports that Battlefield 6 attracted a noticeable number of players from Call of Duty during the beta. EA has also published the official weapons list, as well as the achievements and trophies. The studio also chose to ship without ray tracing to maintain stable performance across platforms, a decision discussed in earlier coverage of the game’s graphics decisions: Battlefield 6 will not support ray tracing.
“Portal remains the tool for creating and customizing experiences, while the section in the main menu previously called ‘Portal’ is now called ‘Community’. This is where you will find the Server Browser, which is now prominently featured to make it easier to find and use. Separately, we will launch with Breakthrough, Conquest and Rush as verified modes within the Server Browser. This enables us to, for example, feature official Hardcore experiences that we know many of you are excited for.”
In short, the Server Browser will be available for players who want it, but EA appears to be guiding many players toward verified playlists, such as Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, and curated Hardcore modes. If you want to check the day one patch notes, you can visit this link.
