Battlefield 6 update stops rerolled challenges from forcing non-Redsec players into Redsec

A change to Battlefield 6's challenge reroll system prevents players who do not play Redsec from being handed challenges that require the Redsec battle royale mode.

Battlefield 6 has been quietly adjusting some of the little annoyances that bubbled up since Redsec launched, and today’s tweak will matter to players who do not want to touch the free-to-play battle royale spinoff. A recent post from the Battlefield Comms account on social media says the reroll system for daily challenges has been altered so that non-Redsec players no longer receive tasks that can only be completed in Redsec.

Players complained that rerolled challenges sometimes required Redsec, effectively nudging them out of the main game and into battle royale to clear their task list. That pressure to switch modes, even if unintentional, became a frequent gripe. Battlefield Comms posted the change on social media and included a brief note about how the new reroll behavior works. The announcement read in part:

“Now, when rerolling a challenge, this change will prevent Battlefield 6 players from receiving a challenge that can only be completed in REDSEC.”

The post also clarified that players who do play Redsec will still be able to reroll into Redsec-only tasks, and that rerolls remain random. In short, the tweak narrows the pool of possible reroll outcomes for players who have not engaged with Redsec, while allowing Redsec players to continue chasing additional Redsec challenges.

If you want a refresher on what Redsec is and how it launched alongside Battlefield 6, see our explainer on the Redsec launch. If you need help installing it, check our guide on how to download Redsec on PC, PS5, and Xbox. If this change makes your daily task list feel less like extortion, say so in the comments. Want to argue weapon balance or which Redsec loadout rules the island? We like that too.
