EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6 Season 2 will launch on Feb. 17, 2026. Season 1 started Oct. 28, 2025 and has now been extended to run until the Season 2 release. The developer announcement on Jan. 13 said the first season will continue through Season 2’s launch. A Season 1 extension update is scheduled to go live on Jan. 20. EA said the move gives the team extra time to develop and refine Season 2 based on community feedback.
Between now and Feb. 17, players will get a Frostfire Bonus Path that arrives on Jan. 27. The Bonus Path includes free and premium customization rewards, XP boosts, a Weapon Package for Battle Pass owners, and a mix of free items like a Vehicle Skin and Hardware XP Boost. The Frostfire Bonus Path uses Weekly Challenges only, and it requires 110 Bonus Path points to fully complete.
The Winter Offensive update landed on Dec. 9 and brought a seasonal map plus stability and gameplay fixes.
What to expect in Season 2
Leaks and datamines ahead of Season 2 point to new maps that may lean naval, with jet skis and other watercraft, and to weapons such as the MG5 or BREN 2. Those reports have been circulating publicly, including a leaked video that surfaced online.
EA plans to keep working on UI tweaks and hit registration fixes heading into 2026. Community feedback around aim assist and bloom from recent patches has influenced those priorities. RedSec modes could see more Gauntlet variants or Portal-style creations added to core multiplayer.
How long is each season
So far each Battlefield 6 season has run roughly three months. Season 1 used phased drops across maps and modes, a shared Battle Pass, and free content. With Season 2 set for mid-February, players have just over a month to finish the Season 1 Battle Pass and Frostfire Bonus Path rewards.
