It looks like the Battle Royale trend isn’t ready to quit just yet, even in 2025. Battlefield 6, the upcoming PS5 shooter from DICE and EA, might be jumping on the bandwagon with its own take on the genre. If a recent leak is anything to go by, fans could be dropping into a new Battle Royale map called “Lyndon Beach”.
Most FPS games these days seem to come with a Battle Royale mode, and Battlefield 6 appears no different. The multiplayer reveal is scheduled for July 31st, but the talk started early thanks to a social media leak by user Temporyal. They shared a recreation of the map, showing various points of interest and even hints of a metro system, according to Eurogamer.

Keep in mind, this map isn’t officially confirmed but is based on what the leaker claims to have seen. The mode is reportedly called “Battlefield Royale” in-game and may be available as a standalone free download, which could shake things up a bit.
Battlefield 6 will also include a single-player campaign and the usual multiplayer modes that fans expect. The developers have described the multiplayer as “the ultimate all-out warfare experience,” so it’ll be interesting to see how the Battle Royale mode fits in with that vision.
Interestingly, this wouldn’t be Battlefield’s first go at Battle Royale. Battlefield V introduced Firestorm post-launch, but it didn’t quite set the world on fire. Critics at the time called it “too little, too late,” especially when compared to heavy hitters like Apex Legends. So, will Battlefield 6 do better? The competition is fierce, with games like Warzone and Fortnite still holding strong. Wow, can any new entry really steal the spotlight now?
We’ll get more details on July 31st when Battlefield 6’s multiplayer mode officially gets revealed. Until then, stay alert and keep your parachutes ready.
What do you think? Is a Battle Royale mode in Battlefield 6 a welcome addition or just another tired trend? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
