Battlefield 6 Beta Tweaks Rush Mode Timers Because the Players Were Frustrated

DICE adjusts Rush mode timers in Battlefield 6 beta to address balance concerns and technical issues.

Battlefield 6 has just received some quick changes to its Rush mode during the ongoing beta. DICE reacted after hearing players’ gripes and tweaked timers to try and fix balance problems that were getting on folks’ nerves. Not a complete overhaul, but a move to calm things down a bit.

Here’s what changed: the MCOM timer got chopped from 45 seconds down to 30. That’s supposed to give attackers and defenders a fairer shot. Defender timers in Rush now sit at a fixed 12 seconds instead of swinging anywhere between 6 and 12. This fix also applies to Breakthrough mode, where fewer players are now needed to speed up captures. Minor adjustments, but they’ve been welcomed so far.

Still, plenty of complaints remain. For one, Rush is stuck at 12v12 player count, and it’s not a simple flick of a switch to increase that. The mode’s balance depends on that number, so any change there will take time and effort.

Technical hiccups have also been flagged, like problems with DLSS and DLAA not showing up for players. DICE hasn’t said when that’ll get sorted, but they’re working on it, and recent updates suggest a fix might be on the way soon.

Battlefield 6 started out strong with hype from reveal videos and the first beta, but the second beta’s been a mixed bag. Player numbers are solid, yet complaints around Rush and the use of Open Weapons linger. What comes next depends on how these changes play out and what else DICE decides to tweak before the October launch. Plenty of fixes will probably follow after release, but for now, these timer tweaks are live and ready for testing.
