Battlefield 2042 Breaks Concurrent Player Records on Steam After Two Years

Battlefield 2042 has experienced a remarkable resurgence in its player count on Steam, breaking its all-time high for concurrent players two years since its launch. The game’s recent free weekend and the introduction of Season 6 have undoubtedly played a significant role in this resurgence, capturing the attention of both new and returning players.

Battlefield 2042 was enjoying its strongest month in terms of player count since its initial release, but it had not yet reached its all-time peak. However, the latest data from Steamcharts paints a different picture. The game has achieved a remarkable milestone by amassing an impressive 101,362 concurrent players on Steam. To put this into perspective, the player count on the game’s launch day was approximately 100,590.

It’s important to note that these statistics are specific to Steam, and the actual in-game player count is likely even higher when considering console players. While the difference may not be staggering, it underscores the renewed interest in the game across various platforms.

EA Dice has repeatedly stated that they do not plan to give up on Battlefield 2042, and they plan to make it their flagship shooter title again.

The burning question is whether Battlefield 2042 can maintain a healthy player base once the free trial period concludes. Season 6 has brought significant content additions and much-needed improvements, marking the game’s evolution into a far more engaging experience than many players might remember. However, the ultimate test lies ahead.
