Larian Studios has officially confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3, its critically acclaimed RPG, will make its way to Xbox Series X/S in 2023. One of the standout features of this release will be cross-save compatibility, extending not just to the PC version but also to the PlayStation 5.
Michael Douse, the director of publishing at Larian Studios, took to Twitter to affirm that gamers will be able to transfer their save files seamlessly across the Xbox, PC, and PS5 platforms. This functionality is made possible through the Larian accounts system, requiring players to have a registered Larian account.
For the avoidance of doubt, Xbox will indeed feature cross-save not only between Xbox and PC but also Xbox and PlayStation 5, thanks to our Larian accounts system. 👍

While the news is generally positive for Xbox users, it’s worth noting that split-screen co-op will not be available on the Xbox Series S, as clarified in Larian Studios’ official announcement.
Close on the heels of this announcement, Larian Studios also rolled out the game’s first major patch. This update brought with it over 1,000 fixes and improvements aimed at enhancing the player experience.
