Sony recently released its list of top downloaded games from the PlayStation Store for September 2023. While NBA 2K24 took the top spot for both PS4 and PS5 in North America and Europe, Baldur’s Gate 3 surprisingly appeared, ranking second on PS5 in these regions.

Developed by Larian Studios, the creators have not disclosed specific sales figures for Baldur’s Gate 3 on the PS5 or PC platforms. However, the game sold over 2.5 million copies during its early access phase. It has also been extremely well-received by critics and quickly became this year’s second most significant launch on Steam, coming in just behind Hogwarts Legacy.

Larian Studios has also revealed that the game will be available on the Xbox Series X/S platforms later this year. While local split-screen won’t be an option on the Xbox Series S right away, it may be added later. Players can also look forward to the addition of cross-platform multiplayer capabilities and a Photo Mode. These upcoming features show that the developer is committed to further improving and expanding the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has made a strong impression by ranking second in the PlayStation Store’s top downloads for PS5 in September 2023, following its early success on PC. With further updates and additional platform releases on the horizon, it seems like the popularity of this game will only continue to grow. If you’re a fan of role-playing games, keep an eye out for more news on Baldur’s Gate 3 in the coming months.

The success of Baldur’s Gate 3 could be attributed to its deep role-playing mechanics, which give players lots of choices on how to approach different situations in the game. The engaging story and well-designed characters add another layer of appeal. Its second-place ranking on the PS5 indicates that console gamers are just as excited about this title as their PC counterparts.
