Aydan Conrad, one of Call of Duty Warzone’s best-known pros, told viewers on livestream that he prefers Apex Legends. On the stream he was quite straightforward, I must say. “I love Apex. I swear. When I say this, (it) doesn’t mean I’m trying less in Warzone. Apex is such a better game, it’s literally just a better game,” Aydan said. The stream is available on YouTube and it is embedded below.
He explained why he feels that way. Aydan argued Apex’s slower pacing leads to higher quality fights, especially in the endgame. He said the game’s abilities and movement create more meaningful combat, and that weapon balance and lower aim assist make the skill gap clearer.
“I used to say that Apex was slow. I used to hate just landing in and like ‘Oh I gotta f**kin’ sit here and loot,’” he said. “That’s how a BR is supposed to be. You’re not supposed to land and just be in f**kin’ action the entire game.”
Aydan also pointed to competitive balance. He said ranked play and weapon viability in Apex reduce strict metas, and that the lack of loadouts prevents guaranteed two-weapon setups that can dominate matches. Those comments came from a player who won the $1 million Esports World Cup 2025 Warzone tournament with Twister Minds, so his view carries weight in pro circles.
The remarks are likely to prompt fresh comparisons between the two battle royales among fans and pro players alike. Whether players agree will depend on which style of BR they prefer, but Aydan’s take is a clear endorsement of Apex’s design choices.
