The release date for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has finally been announced. During its Forward event, Ubisoft confirmed that the highly-anticipated game, based on James Cameron’s Avatar franchise, will launch on December 7, 2023.

The reveal of the release date was complemented by an action-packed trailer. The trailer showcased a Na’Vi utilizing human weaponry, including rifles, hinting at potential combat mechanics. The open world of Pandora was also briefly glimpsed, suggesting that players will have a vast alien landscape to explore.

Alongside the game reveal, iconic film director James Cameron appeared in a pre-recorded message. He clarified that the game’s storyline co-exists with the Avatar movies, potentially offering fans additional layers of the universe to explore.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was initially planned to launch in tandem with Cameron’s film, Avatar: The Way of Water, released in December 2022. However, Ubisoft announced a delay in July 2022, pushing the game’s release to the company’s fiscal year beginning in April 2023.
