Astro Bot will have tons of New Abilities and over 80 Levels

Hello, hello, boys and girls. Sony’s latest State of Play has revealed a new Astro Bot adventure, for which Team Asobi has finally dropped the news. Unlike a usual Playroom experience, it’s a full-fledged Astro Bot title, and it’s packed with more content than we could have imagined. Astro Bot is set to launch on September 6th for PS5.

The reveal trailer teased over 50 levels initially, but a recent PlayStation Blog post has upped the ante. We’re looking at more than 80 levels spread across six brand-new galaxies. Astro is back and is on a mission to find his crew again, which has a trick up his sleeve with the Dual Speeder. Essentially, the DualSense controller turns into a space vehicle, allowing Astro to hop from planet to planet.

Now, what’s got me hyped are the new abilities. We’re talking over 15 new ways to control Astro, including a robotic dog named Barkster that grants an air-dash ability. This means you can blast through obstacles and enemies with style. Then there are the Twin-Frog Gloves for some serious melee action and the Giant Sponge that lets Astro grow in size. Team Asobi isn’t holding back on creativity.

Also, let’s not forget about the DualSense features. We’re getting full support for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which means every jump, punch, and dash will feel incredibly immersive. Team Asobi promises improved controls, which should make this game more enjoyable.
