Ubisoft’s long-awaited and anticipated Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will feature Jotunheim and Asgard as playable realms, revealed today by Ubisoft Nordic. However, protagonist Eivor will need the help of Valka the Seer to reach these places. The fact that Ubisoft has confirmed that mythological monsters will roam the world has made this announcement not-too unexpected. It’s also something that looks like Norse mythology lovers, along with God of War (2018) fans, will enjoy the living hell out of it.

For those unfamiliar with these places, Jotunheim is the realm of the Jotnar (the Frost Giants), one of the nine realms of the world tree Yggdrasil, overloaded with snow and ice. The Jotnar are isolated beings and entities that will eventually come out during Ragnarok.
Asgard, on the other hand, is the home of the Aesirian Gods like Thor, Odin, Heimdallr, Loki and many others. The Aesirian Gods, or the Aesir, are typically referred to as the superior tribe of gods, compared to the Vanir of Vanaheim. In the screenshots in the Twitter post, we can see Yggdrasil (the World Tree) located behind the Asgardian palace (which could also be Valhalla, given the name of the game).
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will release November 10th for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Google Stadia, while the PS5 version will arrive November 12th, on the day of its release.
