Respawn Entertainment has shared the first details about the upcoming Apex Legends Season 17, which is set to launch next month. Dubbed Arsenal, the new season will be released on May 9 and will introduce the highly anticipated new hero, Ballistic, featured in the latest trailer (embedded above).

Ballistic, a former Thunderdome Games competitor, returns from retirement to prevent his son from joining the deadly Apex Games. His addition to the roster is expected to bring exciting new gameplay possibilities and strategies to the battle royale.

Alongside Ballistic‘s debut, Season 17 will also introduce an updated version of the World’s Edge map and a significantly expanded Firing Range, offering players a fresh environment and more opportunities for honing their skills.

Apex Legends’ previous season, Revelry, launched in February and marked the first time that a new season did not introduce a new Legend. Instead, developer Respawn Entertainment focused on remastering existing Legend classes. Revelry also brought the long-awaited Team Deathmatch as a limited-time mode and retired Arenas.

Are you excited about this new Season?
