AMD’s Radeon RX 9070XT & 9070 GPUs Expected to Hit the Shelves in March 2025

AMD gears up to release its latest RDNA4 GPUs after NVIDIA's RTX 50 series.

AMD has just announced plans to release the Radeon RX 9070XT and 9070 RDNA4 GPUs, set to hit the market in March 2025. This comes on the heels of NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series launch, shaking things up in the GPU landscape.

David McAfee from AMD revealed this recently, and honestly, it feels like AMD is playing catch-up here. Waiting until after NVIDIA reveals its pricing and performance makes it look like AMD is trying to find that sweet spot for its own GPU lineup. I mean, we all know how competitive these prices can get!

The buzz around NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070Ti and the regular 5070 suggests they will retail at $749 and $549, respectively. So, guess what? Rumor is that AMD might price its RX 9070XT closer to $599. Now, while some may see this as thoughtful planning, others can’t help but feel a bit skeptical about AMD’s confidence in their product lineup. If they were truly confident in their capabilities, wouldn’t they want to hit hard with aggressive pricing right out of the gate? Instead, they look over their shoulders at NVIDIA before deciding how to position themselves.

This whole tactic makes sense when you think about it: NVIDIA has dominated the GPU market for years now. Why would AMD risk launching too early? Waiting allows them to grab more attention once those new benchmarks emerge after the NVIDIA launch.

But here’s my concern: what if they decide to hike those prices instead? Remember, folks, corporations are not your friends! Until then, we haven’t even seen any benchmarks that suggest these new cards will blow us away compared to previous generations. It feels a bit risky on AMD’s part.

I’m cautiously optimistic about these upcoming cards, but let’s be honest: AMD is still trying to play catch-up here. It’s a classic case of wanting what you can’t have immediately! And hey, I’ve been saying this all along:

“Instead of exposing themselves, AMD is simply waiting for NVIDIA to reveal its RTX 50 series. Then once AMD sees how NVIDIA has priced its GPUs, it will most likely adjust its own prices so that it can be competitive with them.”

If you’re as curious as I am about what’s coming next from AMD and whether they’ll finally step out of NVIDIA’s shadow, stay tuned!

Radeon 9000 series hardware and software are looking great and we are planning to have a wide assortment of cards available globally.  Can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on the cards when they go on sale in March!
