After spending nearly four years in Early Access, the sci-fi submarine simulator Barotrauma is finally ready to take the plunge into its full release. Developed by FakeFish and Undertow Games, and published by Daedalic Entertainment, Barotrauma has been a popular choice for fans of multiplayer survival games, thanks to its challenging gameplay, atmospheric setting, and a strong emphasis on teamwork.

With the full release, players can expect a host of new features and improvements, including overhauled campaigns and tutorials, improved graphics and environments, new monsters, missions, and outposts, and a scripted event system. The developers have also revamped the electrical system, making it more complex and realistic, and have introduced a new endgame to the single-player campaign, challenging players to survive and escape from the depths of Europa.

Barotrauma’s multiplayer mode is a favorite among players, with support for up to 16 players and a traitor mode that randomly assigns players as secret conspirators, complete with their own individual missions like assassination and sabotage. The game’s modding community has also been active during its time in Early Access, creating a wealth of new content for players to enjoy. The full release includes full mod support, allowing players to add new content and gameplay mechanics to the game easily.

To celebrate the full release, the developers have released a new trailer (found at the top of the article) showcasing the game’s immersive atmosphere, challenging gameplay, and impressive visuals. With its engaging gameplay mechanics, diverse range of creatures, and a vibrant modding community, Barotrauma will surely be a hit with fans of sci-fi and simulation games. So, grab your crew and set sail for the depths of Europa, where danger and adventure await!
