In an unexpected turn of events, Far Cry 4 has received an update that quietly removes nudity from the game a decade after its initial release. Ubisoft implemented this silent patch without any official announcement, surprising many players when they noticed the changes upon booting up the game.
The alteration appears to link back to Ubisoft’s recent partnership with Tencent, which saw several franchises, such as Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, and Rainbow Six, transition under a new subsidiary. Interestingly, just days before March 31, Far Cry 3 also underwent similar updates, although details on those changes remain undisclosed.
The most noticeable change occurs in the Shanath Arena. Players familiar with the area will remember a female character who was topless before this patch; she now dons a bra-like garment that effectively covers her. This detail was first brought to light by observant users on Reddit.
A separate user examined other characters throughout the game and found that Yuma’s model remained unchanged despite being entirely exposed. However, Ajay Gale, the protagonist of Far Cry 4, is now no longer naked in this arena and wears a loincloth covering his genitals.
