Legal troubles are on the horizon for Schedule 1. The indie game, which has captured the attention of gamers everywhere, is now being investigated over claims of copyright infringement by publisher Movie Games S.A. This situation stems from allegations that Schedule 1 bears too much resemblance to Movie Games’ own Drug Dealer Simulator franchise, which includes both Drug Dealer Simulator 1 and 2.
But the excitement took a hit on April 3 when Movie Games S.A. officially requested an investigation into TVGS’ Schedule 1. Evidence regarding this legal action emerged on baptizes with a document declaring: “MOVIE GAMES SA (17/2025) Decision to commence investigation against the creators of the Schedule 1 production for claims regarding the infringement of the Issuer’s IP and related to committing an act of unfair competition against it.”
This legal battle isn’t just about names; it dives deep into gameplay elements. According to the legal notice, there was potential infringement involving “elements of the game’s plot, mechanics, as well as UI – User Interface.” Similarities between these titles are scrutinized closely—could this spell trouble for TVGS?
The investigation commenced shortly after Schedule 1’s release on March 24 and emphasized a comparative analysis between Movie Games’ established titles and TVGS’ new project.
