Before its official debut in Early Access on January 19, Palworld was making waves in the gaming community, being affectionately dubbed as “Pokemon With Guns.” This moniker has now taken a more literal form as modders, only days post-launch, have ingeniously integrated actual Pokemon into Palworld’s expansive universe.
The game’s inherent design, which features a variety of adorable creatures known as Pals, naturally drew comparisons to the beloved Pokemon series. However, modders have taken this parallel to the next level. A teaser video by YouTuber Toasted Shoes has given players a glimpse into this transformed world. Still awaiting its release, the mod showcases a radical overhaul of Palworld’s ecosystem. Ash Ketchum, the iconic protagonist from the Pokemon anime, steps into the player character role, and the native creatures of Palworld are replaced with authentic Pokemon.
The download link for the Mod Pack will be revealed tomorrow, as announced by ToastedShoes.

The teaser is a compelling showcase of this transformed world. Players can spot Ash navigating the wilds with Torterra, employing Pikachu in building robust strongholds and joining forces with familiar allies Brock and Misty to survive the harsh realities of Palworld. Even Jessie, the notorious antagonist from Team Rocket, appears, reimagined as an early boss in the game. This creative modding pays homage to the Pokemon legacy and infuses a novel narrative into Palworld’s gameplay.
Despite the absence of Pikachu and other core competitive elements from the Pokemon series, the concept of “Pokemon With Guns” has resonated with the gaming community. Palworld’s sales skyrocketed, with over five million copies sold across PC and Xbox platforms within the first three days. However, it’s worth noting that those playing on platforms other than Steam may encounter a more constrained multiplayer experience.
