IO Interactive has moved the PS5 release of 007 First Light from March 27, 2026 to May 27, 2026, the studio announced on December 23, 2025. The developer says the game is playable from beginning to end and the two-month shift will give the team extra time to polish the launch.
The original March date was confirmed earlier this year, for reference, you can see our earlier piece confirming the March 27 slot here. IO Interactive posted the update on X, where it explained the reasoning behind the move.
“The game is progressing well and is fully playable from beginning to end, so these additional two months will allow us to further polish and refine the experience, ensuring we deliver the best possible version at launch. We’re confident this sets 007 First Light up for long-term success, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and continued support we’ve received since we revealed the game.”

The delay also separates the game from a crowded late-winter release schedule. With several big launches clustered in February and March, May should give 007 First Light more breathing room in the market. IO Interactive’s announcement on X is available on the studio’s account.
